This is the first installment of a series of posts on the Electoral College and how it currently operates in our Democratic Republic. Below is a map of the United States.
Red States have laws that require their Electors to vote for the state wide popular vote winner.
Green States’ Electors are free to vote for their candidate of choice.
Blue States have laws that require their Electors to vote for the popular candidate in their Electoral District.
How does any of this play into the campaign strategy of each candidate? We will discuss that in future posts.
