Awesome. Sen. Orrin Hatch [,(R) Utah,] used his influence and got President Bush to commute the sentence of rapper John Forte. Oh, how nice of you Senator! That is why we send you to Washington. Why was Mr. Forte in jail any way?
Forte was arrested in 2001 in a New Jersey airport for possession of 31 pounds of liquid cocaine. It was worth about $1.4 million. Forte was convicted and sentenced to a mandatory minimum of 14 years in a federal prison.
But here’s the best part. Hatch says six years in prison is enough because he believes Forte isn’t a risk to society and he’s a musical genius.
Thank you, thank you Senator Hatch! But, what about the Border Patrol Guards who are rotting in prison for doing their job?
